The Evening Of Yes
Love unseen comes upon a whisper and a dream.
She walks a path unknown in fields of sweet clover.
Her love glows like the heart of the sun; ever shining.
To but hold her hand; to caress her face brings a soft peace.
When I am with her I taste the sweetness of angelic dreams.
For I hear their whispers; I feel the soft hush of their wings.
I know that she is near; I feel her love as angels sing.
Blessed is this simple man called I, blessed in the evening of yes.
To have known such love not once, but twice is more than mortal can ask.
The joys of heaven lie like unto leaves which fall in the garden of my latter years.
For when I am with Jan I taste of love again and my heart no longer fears.
I ask of God this simple question of how this love for Jan can be.
He replies to me that within my heart of love so pure …Allen this is by me for thee.
I smiled once more beneath the willow as I held her ever so close as I dreamed of the sea.
