~Go Now Gently~

Go now gently sweet one, sleep; sleep ever softly in His arms.

Fear not the journey ahead for thy crossing brings no harm.

Though it is deep into the night that you walk your last mile-

It is by His love which forever shines that made life worthwhile.

Therefore, and thus this darkness which lay before your eyes, fret not-

sweet one as the shadows are expelled in whole by His love divine.

Thus go gently and weep not once for this passing day.

Rejoice in thy deliverance as God makes straight your way.

So sleep now, forget thy earthly woes, and remember not thy pain.

Take now thy flight upon angel wings; enter now into eternal life-

For in going home, naught is there to lose, but forever is to gain.
