She Sat Alone In Silence Of Spring
She sat in the silence of the warm spring like day.
Her eyes were distant - lost - searching in a look far away.
The birds nearby sang with the Joy of the approaching spring.
Yet she remained silent – unmoving-
her mind collapsed around some long ago dream.
I watched from a distance
As if a specter from another time.
Sad emotive waves hung like dark clouds in her mind.
I watched the laughing - playing children dancing on the walk of their youth.
Yet of this to she, it brought only intermittent longing sighs.
Woe be this coldness, borne in her grey sad eyes…
misery be this sorrow of the longing morrow-
which lay heavy against her muted sighs.
