The Nuisance Of Murder

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

When death is justified and when is it not. For three weeks a large pit bull had been roaming the neighborhood…obviously set free by an owner for whatever reason was unable to keep him up. Now thanks to a neighbor (and I mean this sarcastically) the pit bull is no longer an issue. What is right, and what is wrong…I no longer know.

The Nuisance Of Murder

Life intended or unintended he was flesh and blood.

Was he a nuisance or just lost and misunderstood?

He lives no more as his lungs filled with blood and he ceased to breathe.

Once he must have been loved, but sadly his sentence was named without reprieve.

So therefore the nuisance is now gone, but for me it is murder in my eyes.

He as far as I know was innocent and only in his sad life tried to survive.

Thus I only see the nuisance in the fact of murder when anything dies.

This is so sad, I cannot bear to think that this could happen. What is going on in our society...cruel and inhumane..

Peace, love and light,

Our nation has so sadly now abandoned man's best friend, and our cruelty towards all the many strays and homeless pets now roaming the countryside is horridly on the rise. I couldn't even tell you how many starving and abused dogs I've helped round up in the last year, and our shelters are all now sadly full, and no one is willing to adopt them.
