Living With Cancer; A Rare weekend Off
The smell of fresh brewed coffee; the crisp morning air.
A rare weekend away from work, a weekend without care.
A time to ponder the season of our existing days.
A time to relax, a time to reason…A time to pray.
Again all to soon the journey shall begin.
Me thinks if I have not seen what I have seen….
I might take treatment with a grin.
Yet I remember even though I in all honesty do not dwell.
I remember watching a healthy body in my arms be ravaged by a spirit from hell.
Never mind the last line for it is just a memory lapse.
I will recover; I will rise above and I will give praise
To He who has even in my trials and infirmity allowed this to pass.
For we all live in the seasons of our lives in which the Lord God has planned.
They’re all for a reason…even though we question and do not understand.
Yes, oh yes, I do think of me, but moreover I think…I feel and pray for others worse than me.
Many now I know who walk this same road…many I see who in secret reside here on AD.
It’s my prayers for them and others that I do personally know.
It is now in humble spirit that that my love for them should grow.
Oh yes…a day of a day but to relax…but this as is life is, just temporal
As the sun kisses the night and the next day comes to pass.
