Gray/black skies filter in a soft gentle light.
Throngs gather in small groups to celebrate the night.
Though the skies outside be cloudy and gray,
I sense, I feel a dark presence inside;
A spirit only felt and unseen.
I feel the coldness amidst faux smiles and laughter so seemingly gay.
Yet shadows and dark spirits steal away the heart and souls of many this day.
Sometimes I only feel these spirits,
Yet sometimes of them I do see.
They hover above those oppressed,
I hear screams as they seek to in silence devour our humanity.
I pray sometimes that these visions,
This burden be forever removed from my heart and soul and the blackness I hear and see.
Laughter fills the room deep,
Yet the joy is just temporal and the gravity they reap.
Since but a child these things I have seen.
Some I see have a white, turquoise glow,
However all too many carry with them the aura of the darkness born from the depths of hell and the underworld below.
Yet and even though I see, I know not the predestination, or when they shall be set free.
I know in my soul, those who laugh today, though not all,
But most shall weep into the night unfulfilled and with their own demons to face alone.
Grace be now unto those.
Peace be granted as the shadows of gray transform their darkness to the glory and light that some doth know.
For it has been said, darkness is but the absence of light.
There unto shall the light send darkness to flight.
