Time Has Arrived

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Confession of the heart; for the past five years, I have done battle, I have run and I have hid my face from God. My Leah, my late wife, passed away, I hated God. For we both served Him in earnest. But when she died, in her faith, she took my faith in God with her. Yet still the trials of life, still prevail. I knew what was right and I know what is wrong. Yet it has taken this long for the time to arrive. For one can only hide his face from God for so long. It will still be a battle, but I know in my heart, that God Will prevail and I will soon be back where I truly belong.

Time Has Arrived

The darkness of death knocked on my door September 7, 2008.
Death stole my love even though as on my face I laid and prayed.
Death heard me not, God ignored my cry.
I wept, I sorrowed and inside I slowly began to die.

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months and finally come the years.
Disdain and disbelief was all that filled my heart and resounded in my ears.
I felt there was no escape except to run, ignore God because He I felt ignored me when I so desperately cried.

But now almost six years later, conviction has torn at my soul.
I, like in the novel ‘Hound of Heaven’ ran, hid, but secretly in my heart wanted to be made whole.
These past two nights, the Holy Ghost through the Father and the Son has let me know what must be done.

Even though, through a lifetime of church and the teachings of God.
I have failed these last five and a half years miserably on the ground on which I trod.

The battle is not over, the fight for my soul has just begun.
At present Satan has dominion over me against Christ the Holy One.
But the time has arrived, as my heart splits into.
I belong not to Satan, but to Jesus, the Son of God who is true .

Thus the battle begins as I fight enemies unseen.
Deafness prevails in the sleep of night and disturbing dreams.
I pray for deliverance from the ‘Minions’ whom which gnashing teeth tear each day at my simple and mortal flesh,
I pray each night that God; that even in my doubt He knows best.

So bless this day, pray now, pray hard all those who believe.
That God without doubt will impart His wisdom and strength unto me.
And make a way…

“So bless the Lord with all my soul and all that is within me.
Bless His Holy name.”

Good night my friends and if you pray,
Pray for me, for I am a lost soul that needs to be set free.

The battle still rages and the tempest is strong.
I know the time has arrived and, and it won’t be long.

be reminded perhaps comforted that this life on earth is but a brief temporary assignment...I am praying for your clarity and trust in Gods promise of reunions, happiness and treasures beyond our wildest imaginings. Leah awaits you smiling knowing now how brief the time is that we suffer here in this 'foreign' earth. this was so touching

Great reflective poetry! Take heart knowing that the GREATEST follower of Jesus, Saint Paul was NOT a saint when he was Saul. All of us fall short. However, I find that if you seek the heart of the strongest Christians in the land you will find your way in the Holy land. For we become the company we seek and we are the company we keep.

Amen my friend,
