The Dark Moon
The dark moon cradled the sleeping trees.
Winds blew across naked branches with ease.
Shadows hung beneath every pine.
Darkness saith the moon, this night is mine.
Don't be turn away by the "dark night"
with an inquiring mind...thirsty soul
and thoughts on a wild ride
embrace this cathartic moment of a dark void"...
Connect with your Dark Goddess within
not focus pocus...elusive force
Discover strength...wisdom...and beauty
never thought were there...in first place"...
A dark moon is this poet's delight,
hiding all things evilly done in the night.
But when the clouds move in to obscure its view,
surely that evil will come creeping to you.
On my recent trek up to the great northwood,
I was once again at peace, and all was good;
Even the dark moon greeted me and my loyal dogs,
While they howled, I said Hello perched on a log.
The moon is observed by this loon,
He see's it rise as it does soon,
Many a song about it have they crooned,
Over the ocean does the moon loom,
To clean it will take a mighty long broom...
with an inquiring mind...thirsty soul
and thoughts on a wild ride
embrace this cathartic moment of a dark void"...
Connect with your Dark Goddess within
not focus pocus...elusive force
Discover strength...wisdom...and beauty
never thought were there...in first place"...
hiding all things evilly done in the night.
But when the clouds move in to obscure its view,
surely that evil will come creeping to you.
till I read Ed Matlack's scroll
then I laughed till I cried
and damned near died
before darkness took its toll.
I was once again at peace, and all was good;
Even the dark moon greeted me and my loyal dogs,
While they howled, I said Hello perched on a log.
He see's it rise as it does soon,
Many a song about it have they crooned,
Over the ocean does the moon loom,
To clean it will take a mighty long broom...
