Lacy

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

After another long, hot work week for Allen, Sunday comes and away we go, not only to buy groceries but to find ourselves relaxing and enjoying a delicious meal at Logan’s Roadhouse. This week Allen realized that he hadn’t written a poem for this beautiful young lady that has not only waited our table several time but today she quickly became a new friend. Sundays at Logan’s only gets better each time we stop to unwind and relax. (Jan)

Poem Artwork

.Lacy

She is a star which is within travail with the sleeping moon.
She winks, she shines which shall bring a better day and time.

Moon shadows chase her secret dreams.
Life as is, reveals not what it seems.
Simplicity of hope yet unseen shall soon make itself known to her hearts desire and by what life’s goal she shall seek.

Twinkle, twinkle amidst the sleeping moon,
Is the embodiment of Lacy’s heart and mind,
Soon and very soon will her goal in life suddenly bloom.

She shall pass the muster and the universe will be hers to steal.

Greatness awaits this little star which doth shine.
Her eyes, her smile reaches across the breadth of time.

Come now soon, though not this day.
She will outshine the sleeping moon and in life make her dreams to forever stay.

Love for family,
Love for all in need.
Yes oh yes, though she is still young,
Lacy is born of the stars thus making her a special breed.

"There are some people that make your laugh
a little louder, your smile a little brighter,
your pain a little easier, and your life just
a little bit better. That's what I call best
friends" - Unknown.

Your life seems to be richer because of the special
person - Lacy. Everyone loves to be valued.
Thank you Allen, for sharing your poem.

Reads like you are really taken by her happiness. You sure are the king of the latest craze, "selfies." She reminds me of my niece. My brother told me to drop in on the restaurant just off interstate where she was waitressing to help pay for college. As I waited for her to come to my table she passed the table with four guys with mischief on their minds. I heard them clearly call out, "come here, Sunshine." That title that they'd given her matched her personality perfectly.
