Between work and sleep time, Allen and I only have a few short hours to be together. And on his very few days off that he has each month, there is yard work, honey-do list, seems like something breaks down every week, and of course extra sleep to try to catch up from what is missed on work days. That really doesn’t leave much together time. We used to go eat out every weekend and take drives out in the country or go the lake or river and enjoy the scenery and that’s gone now, seems like with each year, the things we enjoyed to do have just about come to an end. Work vs. Life and Love; Life and Love vs. Work
I work to survive yet I live but to love. However I find that work again has consumed too much of my life and my desire to live for love has almost died.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and I have found that to be sure and true .
For each minute that work takes me away from my true love I become more saddened and blue.
When I finally am able to come home, I find Jan waiting with open arms and the most beautiful smile and it is then that my worries of the day gently slip away.
When her lips touch mine I feel life come rushing back into my soul. Her laughter fills my heart with joy and quickly I begin to once more feel whole.
Sadly though our few hours together quickly begin to slip away and all too soon I find work has arrived only to once again from life steal me away.
Each day I tell Jan I love her as I kiss and tell her goodbye... yes someday both she and I will have time to live and love, greeted by soft gentle mornings and passionate nights.
I work for that day that I will live once more. I long to hold her hand as we walk together on sandy beaches along loves eternal shores.
Yet for now it's to live and live to forever love.
