Where are mans dreams

 when small children scream

 and old lonesome men cry?

Where the homeless

 line the streets

And corruption and greed

 cause people to die.

Where is the love

that once did exist,

And how did our

 innocence slip us by?

Ours has become

a journey of no return.

         For

Gone are those

 who through

 smoke and mirrors

gave us a faux

 semblance of bliss.

For now we must face

The reflection

of whom we truly are.

       Oh

Mirror in time

Tell me a lie,

That I may,

No longer, cry.

For dreams of peace

Have left me barren

Thirsty and dry.

I long,

I yearn,

I lean not

Upon my

Own understanding

I wish only

For love

And peace

To once

More return.

Before I

In my turn

Bid this world

Goodbye.
