In traditional pictures of the Goddess of Mercy,Guanyin, she is often shown seated on a rock with a willow-branch in a vase of water at her side. The Goddess employs this mysterious water and the branch for putting demons to flight

Poem Artwork

Weep no more willow...sun has set on thou
trail of tears...rise up in wisdom for a prudent
sun rise tomorrow...awaken flowers at your core,
when rain dances for your branches...billow for the
Santa Ana winds for survival of those surly currents

My Cherokee visions, willow transparent for meditation
to seek the raven white of folklore...representative
of purity...regenerate original spiritual white feathers
banished in black but to be evil no more.

Perpetuate these white feathers, enlisting quills for
your pen...Lamb's Book of Life, for a mirthful ending.

~Symbol of Wisdom~Spiritual Connection~
...Rise up with a branch from your pillow...

You have managed, in this elegant composite of beliefs, to express our longing for escape from the the surly currents of life and for the spiritual healing we are often afraid to articulate.
