Poem Artwork

Driving by an old abandoned hospital
last night alone...what was I seeing?
...consideration of an apparition...
a soul left in the aftermath with
wreckage in such disarray

It was giving me the heebie jeebies...
yet stilled, by a trance

Could I possibly give chase? maybe so,
if not with fright roaming in the crumbling
and decaying, or let her go forever pinning
with other lives lost amidst the now rubble

When suddenly a vision presented my life
beginning and ending before intended...
perhaps a warning, one might say,
for serious commitment to seek an earnest
fulfillment for My life's dreams

Willing to move on filled with completeness
when my time comes, not to linger on in a
ghostly form... just wishing I had pursued all
avenues in vehicles bound for parkways
of happiness

Apparition or Angel, What say You?

It's an interesting concept this idea of ghosts choosing to hang around and scare people rather than moving on. I hope my apparitions have chosen to move on.

The apparition becomes the person on earth who wishes she had explored all of the possibilities in her life. Very well done, Vivian. I love the line "bound for parkways of happiness." Another powerful offering, written from your golden pen of knowledge!

Oh, I'll leave it up to you to put a name to it, I didn't see it, and although your description was detailed, I still didn't see it. I could love to have seen it, however.
