~of elephants and wine...
given a wind of imagination~

Poem Artwork

Elephants on my wall
uncorked wine bottles
afternoon melange
now the tree and me
in the park leaning a bit

You stole my youth
lied to me, and stood
me up for the alter's
life of happiness

Elephants now walk
my bedroom where
kittens used to romp
and play in the hay

I think I shall fly a kite,
if the sky will just hold still

Contraire! I must gain control
return to my ~living~ room
for the lion's share is there

Confounding my thinking
under this slightly slanted sky
elephants have followed me here

I think I shall become a kite, with
Burgundy ribbons for a tail wind
catch me if you can

Can elephants fly?

I love it, even though I can detect just a trace of dissappointment? in life it still is lighthearted enough with the wine to make it a great story.

I suppose we all have elephants in the room and betrayal is a big beast. Not sure an afternoon melange is the answer.
On a lighter note: Dumbo can!

Hah! This poem reminds me of an old Credence Clearwater Revival song, "Looking Out My Backdoor."

"Tambourines and elephants
are playin in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the
flyin spoon doot doo doo."

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
