May any last strokes of poetry be remembered doing what a writer
loves best for letting it be known
that the pen is mightier than any
sword for the living on from remembrance when one is long gone

I remember being on the side of the sword in a long ago college debate but even then I was not fully convinced of the superiority of the sword. I suppose that belief is what keeps you poets going.

Think what the world would be like without writers and poets, a vague world of emptiness!
..."pen iiiiiiis mightier than any sword"...Vivian.
Battles that writer, with words, have been fought
and won...and...left behind the world that became
a better place...rich in love, compassion, tolerance,
and understanding that...makes the difference
and brings the VICTORY WORTH HAVING.
Truly inspiring words and love the meaningful picture.

The pen is all but gone, but the written word continues on and grows exponentially as the world communicates in ways that were never thought of before and change is accelerated to the point where it scares those born in a quieter, slower time.
But I have faith that the written word will conquer all the swords ever created and pound them into plowshares of good living for those of us who have to share the planet with its limited resources.
Your words, O poet, once in cyberspace, will last until eternity. Write them well.
The sword has its way to be remembered as well, but I tend to fall on the side of the pen in that words live forever, the sword usually is buried in history's rubble.
