The Star Seeker

On a recent trip to Hollywood over the Christmas Holidays I was in desperation of seeking to take a picture of a "movie star" (like any other tourist). I hunted high and low, on Rodeo Drive, and Hollywood Blvd., bought a "map of the stars" and searched the Hollywood hills hoping to catch a glance of someone famous maybe just putting out their trash...I did find a star finally in the unlikeliest of places, and my mission was both successful and will be forever memorable...

Poem Artwork

uninvited to your home
i nervously entered
traveling far to meet you
a long time admirer
unknown to the well known
through long and white halls
i wandered seeking you
my heartbeat heard by all around me
heads turning
eyes burning
i hear their whispers
night falling in these unlit halls
cold breath on my neck
where are you?

i decide to retreat
an obvious trespasser not wanted
then i run into you
standing in one long hallway
encased in glass
you stand behind it
in a tall bronze urn
pictures of you smiling
and like the enamored fan
i ask to take your picture
shadows of night
coldness ascending
i wait not for your answer
but SNAP, SNAP
hands trembling the guilty paparazzi
i turn to slip away
and as quietly as we met
we smile at each other
i leave your home quickly
into the dusk of night
the heavy maosoleum doors
thudding shut behind me
until we again my Valentino
until we meet again....

Hi ya been stranger. Written well as always. These stars here at AD like you, are enough for me. Don't stay gone so long. I know, You gotta get to the top? Don't we all? Be sweet like chocolate cake.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
