even in the darkest not all is dark

June 6, 2013

Poem Artwork

Deafening silence and utter darkness
surrounds this place in this shrouded nightime.
But to the one standing in native dress
it be where his soul is the most sublime.
For here in this place hes without duress
in harmony with and at this place and time.
Having been to where dark does light supress
whether it be vision, heart or ones mind.
So here among nature without distress
he communes and feels among his own kind.
More than any place, here the One does bless
allowing him to feel more than just fine.

I love it! Such a dark, mysterious, yet motivating piece. You're right, even in darkness, there is some light. Keep up the pen Sir.

Finding oneself and who one truly is. Beautifully written. I love the line 'it be where his soul is the most sublime.' To find that makes life well worth it, doesn't it?

I really enjoyed this poem, I have a son who is native, and very much into what he calls drifting and listening to the chirping birds and yet I hear the ravens going "CAW < CAW and he is in that peaceful place. When I used to live in the Steens mtns 103 miles to town and 29 miles to my nearest neighbor it never seemed dark at all.

I have just come back from a journey, one that I thought would help me to forget. I can relate to what you have expressed through your verses, Budd. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,

Deafening silence, light without light, are powerfully paradoxical, but they are needed to describe such a rare quiet place of nature, and the reading of the work gives peace.
Thank you for sharing this lovely poem.
Continued success

I can most definitely relate to this piece, Budd. Just about every night, after midnight, I step out into the peaceful surroundings you describe here, my friend. Just to commune with nature and the blessings that surround us. Great write. God bless you and yours always.
