sorry i am a couple of days late in posting,

Saddened eyes set in drawn features
stare blankly through greyed straggled locks,
'neath a cap of long past ventures
ignoring jeers and frequent mocks. Standing back behind the massed throng
to watch the parade passing by,
in honor of those who served strong
on foriegn shore, sea and by sky.
His scars have healed but never salved
nor psyche back to former calm,
yet he blames not haved or not-haved
"Blessed is the man" says the old Psalm. 'Tis far too sad all don't honor
each and everyone who served well,
to protect our freedoms and more
by risking their lives in war's hell.
I CAN ONLY SAY, 'AMEN AND AMEN'! A TRIBUTE TO HEROES THAT IS DEEPLY ROOTED IN GRATEFULNESS AND FILLED WITH PRIDE. WELL DONE, AND THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
It is very sad that this world still and always relies on soldiers and wars to settle differences... ...which are never settled that in that manner as we all know after all these centuries. Thank you for sharing this apt and timely write, Budd. Love and peace,
Our competitive society with its particular propensity to elevate the strong (or at least those that speak strongly) has no sympathy for those considered weak or have been weakened psychologically by the horror of what they have experienced.
It's a damn shame we have no compassion in our rush to honor so-called, "valor."
This is ass-kicking poetry, Budd, and although you didn't get it posted on Veterans Day, the message comes through loud and clear today, so don't sweat the small stuff!
