Perfect Enemies
You don’t remember... remember my face.
As you laughed inside your mind.
A hundred shadows racing by.,
screaming loudly as they died.
And then was mine.
Cold fleeting moment frozen time.
The blade so wide, so cold., struck wide,
where so many before had died.
The demon’s talons loosed, I fall…
the deathly running, stunned and sprawled.
I’m still alive.
I know I must survive this constant sea of longing.
I am an echo from your mind.
And as I scroll the roll of slime,
Perfect warriors…
…how can sheer evil look so fine.
Now laughing loudly in my time.
A thousand harpies I have seen.
The depth of darkness in their eyes,
voracious, coveting my spleen,
no human thought of my demise.
And as the skies fill with your kind…fate…
that crackling wing swoop one more time…
I am returning whole and fine.
Just a man., we will remain…Perfect Enemies.
