There are hearts made of paper
There are hearts made of clay
It was magic the heart that I
Found one Fall day
This heart had been broken
His heart had been so bruised
So he lashed out in anger
If he felt used
Very tall walls he'd built that
Not a man could tear down
He'd been hurt and embarassed
Yeah he felt like a clown
Then one day someone gentle
Put her hand upon his
Oh, she tries so to soothe him
To love like it is
Sure he grumbles and hollers
But his heart's made of gold
Hope I meet someone like him
When I've grown grey and old
