My youngest granddaughter, Cara Halene Benadum, has been smitten.........so has he (his name is Brian)! I'm sharing something she sent to me. I did get her permission.

"& to this day
i still think about
the days
where i had no idea
who you were
or who you would be
i still think about
the days
when i would see you
& think nothing of you
because i had no idea
who you were.
& you always had some girl
on your arm
therefore you werent
relevent to me.
i still think of the day
that i walked around the corner
of his house
& saw you sitting there.
i still remember
not thinking much of you still
at the time..
because i still wasnt sure
who you were
& i had heard some things
about you
that werent true .
& it gives me butterflies
to think
that by the end of that night
you would mean so much to me.
we stayed up until daylight
intoxicated in the night
i learned who you really were.
& i will never forget
the way i fell
for you
immediatly.
i will always remember
the butterflies in my tummy
& the smile on my face
the way i wiuld feel
when you would talk to me
& the rush i would get
when you came near me
or when you would speak to me
& i will never forget
the way i would melt
when you sang
or screamed.
i still think about the days
we would stay up all night
until we saw the sun
we would all lay down
& you next to me
& i will always remember
the feeling in me
for all that time..
& to this day
i still feel the rush
i still get butterflies
when i look at you
when im near you
it still amazes me
that the sparks
in me
are burning
to this day
stronger than ever
lighting up inside of me.
& from the start
& to this day
i still find myself thinking
"if this isnt love then what could be?"
& today i looked at you,
almost 1 & a half years later
& i was still blown away
by you
because you are so perfect
& just 16 months ago
i had no idea
what this would be.
if i could write it all down
a novel
that would be
a love story
of my own.
i believe in fate
& the way our lives
wove around
until the timing came
where i needed you
& you needed me
& it was good timing
because before then
i wasnt ready
for someone like you
because i used to give up
/so/ easily.
but theres something in me
that i have for you
that will always hold on
& from the start
i couldnt let you go
there was a reason
just not yet to know.
& to this day
i fall in love with you
over & over again
i can replay it in my head
any memory at all
its like my own
personal
storybook..
that i will always remember.
& always have."

Young love; there's nothing else exactly like it, is there? The wonderful thing is though, "young" love is always ready to burst into bloom no matter how old we are. It just requires the right chemistry and all that goes with it and from that moment. Best wishes to all with love and peace,

Regis

She certainly is, as only a young girl can be, smitten. I'm not sure that he can respond with such emotion and conviction. You haven't said either way, so he may be all right with you already. I would hate to see this strong love she has shattered in the future.

If she marries, I would suggest that she keep the name Benedum. When I was at West Virginia University, the Benedum Foundation played a major role in funding. Some very rich folks. Maybe a little rubbed off on Cara? ;-)

I was smitten by my two grand daughters
and I want the feeling to last forever. Yeah, I know the feeling.

A perennial (indeed a universal) theme that always runs its course thru memory lane. We have always experienced it and we always will. John

Her heart is on her sleeve. "Young and Smitten" is a good title for this long muse that bares her soul and reminds us of what it was like back then. It sounds like a lasting match, with Aunt Jane dreaming along with the young couple.

Ahhh . . . Yes indeed, Jane I believe Cara is truly smitten. I wish her and one she loves all the luck in the world.
