It's better to life alone and be true to yourself, then have a selfish money hungry person or one who treats you nastily..I've been through the mill too and now am true to myself.

I am reminded of Polonious's speech to Laertes in Shakespeare's play "Hamlet." He says: "To thine own self be true; it then follows as night the day,that thou then can not be false to any man."

The secret is to stay true to yourself even when you give yourself away, such as in the act of writing a fine poem like this. True to yourself, even if it means you must be alone. John
