APR22018 PLAY ME A SONG the-garden-of-delights “Self Portrait with a Harp” (1791) (detail) by Rose-Adélaïde Ducreux (1761-1802). Play me a song. Don’t get me wrong. I love your singing voice, But the harp is my choice. The music soothes my sad soul From the day taking its toll. I need the music today. Please sit down with me and play.

I enjoyed reading this poem, and hearing it sing to me, as well. Like the way, you begin with a few syllables in each line, and build the intensity by making the lines longer with more beats, like an urgent knock on a friend's door that starts out lightly but builds in intensity. Yes, there is something about a harp (or guitar), that comforts. Umhmm. Very nice.
Thanks for writing this soothing piece. Love it.

harp is so soothing and subtle, the symbol of Ireland
you can check out the music of Turlough O'Carolan
