Generations

Go way back and imagine the women of your family standing one behind the other with their hand on each new woman's shoulder and feel the strength!!!

Often I think of all
The mothers that I recall
Going back further yet
How many it took
For me to get here
I feel strength not fear

Each generation gives
Strength to the new who lives
Women who to this day
Hold onto the one
Who stands in front of
Who bore her with love

Long is this chain so strong
All of us one belong
Feeling pulse in each hand
On shoulders each holds
To this very day
The strength does not sway

You made me think of that picture I have of five generations of strong women of my family. We would be here without them, would we?

I've seen pictures of my great grandmother elizabeth riggs 1881_1943. I well remember her daughter my grandmother ruby brown 1917-2005. And my. Mother elizabeth findley 1942- . My sister samantha austin 1968. And her daughter in law to be in oct 1. My nephews gettinh married erin lahaise clay 1990.my sister is very jealous pf my writings.we both missed our callings. Mine was history teaxher. Hers was veterenarian. Enjoy reading you at AD. Don't comment often I know but I do read
