You're the best great-grandmother any child could ask for!
There's nothing like a baby to put things in perspective, and make us reorganize our priories. I'd say you got it right. And i'm sure your love will make everything ok for this precious bundle of joy.

There is nothing like the arrival of an infant at your doorstep to raise the spirit. There love is so innocent and spontaneous nothing else matters. Enjoy.
When given a precious gift, it supersedes everything else. It would of course be better if the child was being raised by its flesh and blood mother, but it seems it may be never happen.
