Shuffling through the underbrush,
Just across the creek, out of sight,
Of the human & his flashlight,
His dog sees and smells her,
A flash of her red eyes seen,
She needs fresh meat,
She is so thin and lean…
Traveled from the barrens,
Many miles, much man smell,
All this distance, just for her hunger to quell,
Will that dog do, anything right now, can’t you tell…?
Unable to kill a human being,
FROM man & his dogs she will then be fleeing,
But she did not come this far just for sightseeing,
Tonight maybe, tomorrow at the latest,
She must kill to live, road kill not enough,
With her mind she is agreeing…
So much here of man,
Better to escape back to her barrens,
Where from the beginning time she began,
Her offspring hot with hunger,
She is not, as well, getting any younger…
No more doe’s available,
Bucks all dead, on the road or by her claw,
You decide if this story is real,
Or is it nothing more than a poets fable…

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
Sounded like a lean, mean hungry coyote on the prowl to me...
As real as you can get !
