1. Get some FREE plastic bags - Everybody and his brother saves them from their trips for groceries. I can send a couple of hundred, if needed.
2. Get ONE customer - set up schedule - Once or Twice per week - SCOOP! Get Hand-Written Testimonial as to Great Service - Copy, Print, Distribute.
3. Canvas Neighborhoods, block by block. Sign up more Customers. SCOOP!
4. Delegate or Stagnate! As business grows, must Expand, just like the 'Mowing' Services do. Hire Kids to do the Scooping - Multiply yourself. they do the work, get paid a stipend, and yew Scoop the 'Cream' off the Top!
5. Think of this business like a 'Paper Route' - must be Dedicated, have 7-Day Service - Plan for 'Rain-Dates' - 'Soft n 'Mushy' don't Scoop so good!
6. Once the Money is rolling in, Buy First 'Spot-A-Pot' - build Second service business - 'Catering' (term used loosely) to Wealthier clients who have Big 'Cook-Outs' - 'BBQ's' - 'Garden Parties' - et cetera.
7. Buy Second 'Spot-A-Pot' - expand business - yer 'On yer Way' now.
8. Within one Year, will probably be able to Pay for Homemade TV ads - That Cherubic Face - with that Wonderful Hat - and a Sub-Title ... "THE REAL S**T HEAD" ...

Since you are spending your time walking, perhaps you can just go knocking on doors to offer your service as a dog walker, then a dog-sitter. It will be good for you because you are a dog lover yourself. If they don't need your service immediately then leave them your phone numbers. Have tons of them written down to hand it out. Be prepared. Then as time goes by, you may offer yourself for other services as well, like pet sitting and/or house sitting. Charge them by hours.

When you go to them for the first time, make up a list of names with som time scheule, and hold that in your hands as if they're your clients; for people don't want to use someone who is just starting out. You don't have to tell them what the list is about, just let them think that's what it is. LOL!!

Okay, the rest you probably can figure it out by yourself. When you gain their trust, you can probably do other services for them as well...like run ettands and/or grocery shopping. It all depends. Some ladies are too old to move around by themselves so having you help them do stuff is good.

Just my 2 cents worth on this, becaue I know you are good with dogs.

Man I can empathize but not for long, I find I often have too much time to dwell on things but school goes back in a few weeks and I volunteer there a few days a week...you may consider doing some volunteer work, not only fulfilling but often you make good connections that may lead to bigger and better things.

You have talked a few times about your renewed belief in God. In this in-between time, why don't you try reading the Bible some every day? I have a feeling that you'd find it fills a gap in your life, encourages you, gives you peace in your heart, and even is used by God to direct you in your life. My favorite Bible books are probably Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians, with Psalms following close behind. The first 3 are allin the New Testament, and are letters written by Paul. And in The Acts of The Apostles, you'll find the story of Paul being blinded, knocked off his horse (on his way to persecute Christians) and converted to Jesus Christ.
#1 reason to read the Bible? God wants us to read it!
p.s. Is there a riding stable in the area? They may be able to provide enough poop for one more scooper!
