It started as an innocuous light rain in the south,

Covering the southern states with wet,

Moving slowly north up the coast,

Not enough to even fill a child’s mouth…

It came as well from the arctic north,

A cold wind did precede it as it marched south,

The temperature did drop into the zero range,

But those who lived in the north didn’t think this strange…

Then the rain connected with a small tropical event,

Which raised concerns for the northeast coast,

A full moon did also occur as did a lunar tide,

This storm when fully developed was gonna be a helluva ride…

The arctic front did pick up moisture from the great lakes,

It swooped down from the frozen north like a vulture after prey,

This storm wasn’t fast going to go away,

While passing through New York state it dropped two feet,

But this was not the end of its march to the sea…

The two storms did become one over NJ’s beaches,

The storms were from both winter & summer,

The northly part dropped seven feet of snow,

On an unsuspecting SUMMER! shore,

Yes, the weather did change, no longer was there summer,

The winter did take over; it was way beyond that of a bummer…
