Not knowing the situation I can take a guess. If new crews are arriving ...they are running into a problem they where not expecting and they are working on it. Its the pits to go without.......but from your own write I can see you have what you need for survial. Be grateful some don't have that.

In the military I loved sleeping in tents. Call me NUTS - it's alright. When I was in Korea we had no heat except for these little gas lit stoves. I loved waking up in the crisp cold morning. I was at my best. Then again, if my electric was cut-off in my house today - I would survive but I would be among the FIRST to protest! After all, our neighbors who are elderly and sick are in need - for them I would take a stand! GOD BLESS you brother Ed!

It's nerve racking i agree, seems they don't work too fast in emergencies no more,,,,,but hang in there eventually you'll have electric and you'll be comfortable again....

A peaceful life is the best! I highly suggest that every person check on the elderly and the sick during these termperatures. If the big companies don't care about them who will? Good point brought up here, Ed!

I can tell you that I have been in that POWERLESS mode too. Hurricane Ivan took a shot at us and put us in the dark for weeks..You have well written the uninvited discomforts....

As I have said, I relate. When you go for days and days without power and areas around you are being switched on you get downright hostile about it. Yep, buddy, I know the feeling. At least you have the computer I didn't have that for two weeks.
