Just something I "threw" together for the Horror or Halloween challenge from the powers that be on AD...

Poem Artwork

She walks amongst us unseen,
Only on the night of Halloween,
Does she commune with the living,
That night alone her ire she takes out,
She in life was never much good at forgiving…

This horror queen belongs to the ocean,
There she did die at the hands of a lover,
She moves with the sea’s motion,
The power to attract young prey like a siren,
Before she takes their life force,
She names them after her lover, Lord Byron…

At the 12th stroke of the old town clock.
To the first house on the first block,
She does lightly in consideration knock,
But don’t open the door or,
You will be sucked into the nether world,
There to spend your eternal days without hope of release,
Her claws scratching at you forever and without cease…

I'm glad she won't be coming here. We are too far inland. However, if she does come knocking, I hope to see her knockers before she sucks me in. ;-)

For something that was thrown together, you wrote a spellbinding poem of Halloween, Ed. I enjoyed it immensely.
