No reprieve...

Morbid, to say the least...

Poem Artwork

When death comes calling, time is your last,

Your future from then on is in his hands cast,

No thinking will help, slow or fast,

Suffice to say to the rest you will have passed…

Should we all live or die,

I ask for the truth, no lie,

Surely for now you may feel spry,

But sooner or later by death you’re in the bulls-eye…

Young though you may be,

Make your plans or you will eventually see,

Your end does cometh, all will then grieve,

As in the end there will be no reprieve.

When I feel the time fly by my face, like a breeze, I feel somewhat unsettled. But then, since I believe in that life never ends, in some ways, it is exciting. I know there are a lot of loves with whom I want to "reconnect." Thank you for sharing, Ed. Love and peace,

Regis

Excellent write! Death does not bother me, for to die is to gain eternal life. Yes, I know it sounds insane but I am bound to Heaven and I have a ticket to go on that train. Bring it on! Amen

as they say, a flat line attracts more compassion than the living.

I can't wait to experience another dimension or be a teeny piece of black matter!! I believe it's going to be a trip!

Love ya!

Thaks, now I feel depressed. Doesn't take much to point me down that dark road.

I can't say it any better than what's already been said. This was really good.

Truer words were never spoken. We must all take heart that this will happen, if not now, then later. Beware the hour and the day.

You are so right about that. In the end, none of us get a reprieve. My only hope is that I will go quickly and easily rather than long and hard. But even that cannot be avoided. In some ways, I envy those guys by their lifestyle and eating habits, drop dead of a heart attack in their prime.

The other thing is taxes… ;-)

"Surely for now you may feel spry,"

If I ever read a more profound line, I just cannot remember. You did a fantastic job on this one, Ed.
