Rarely do I write themed posts, but...

Poem Artwork

No headless horseman out tonight,

Witches on broomsticks are out of sight,

Skeletons hiding deep in their graves,

Only out & about this night are the brave…

The scariest of spooks huddle in their haunted homes,

Frankenstein, the wolfman & Dracula are unable to roam,

Terror does strike them but once a year,

Halloween night is the only night these monsters fear…

For on the streets of many a town,

Candy seekers are out in droves wearing their gown,

Striking fear & loathing in the hearts of monsters,

For this is the night the creatures of the dark fear,

The many myriad tykes that are tonight, imposters.

I got the chills. I'd love to visit some of these haunted homes of the dead.

I liked this, Ed. Very well thought out in my opinion.

A very apt and timely write considering our proximity to Halloween, Ed. Well done! Coincidentally, my latest poem (posted a couple of days ago and edited and added to since) is on the same theme. Love, peace, and Happy Halloween.

There is nothing scarier than a passel of kids coming to your door with their hands out. You wonder, "will they like what I'm offering or spit in my face." Turning down little kids what they want is such a disgrace.

You're so right. Monsters don't know how to handle little kids when they're on the warpath of me, too!

I enjoyed this cute Halloween write. Maybe someone should point out to those monsters that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
