“SURFING”

No, not the web as most do nowadays,

Nor TV channels, boring in its own way,

No, this is true & “old fashioned” surfing,

On a board, long or short,

With or without a wet suit, depending on water temp.

Crashing waves, or just a slight chop,

Better at times to have stayed at the surf shop,

Then again, sometimes, surfing is good for a tan,

Lying off the beach amidst a smooth sea,

For a breeze also, you may need a fan.

Some say sharks attack surfers as they look like food,

But then again it seems, you take your life in hand anytime you’re in the big “pool,”

So might as well enjoy while you can, the surf or the sand.

Surfing goes on all year around,

Sometimes winter waves are bigger, as can be found,

But no matter when you do it,

A small crowd will gather to see you through it…
