Here we go cruising the west coast of the United States...

Circum-navigating, in my Minds Eye…Part II

(a continuing adventure, if you like I will continue, if not…?)

Into San Francisco port we cruise,

A place of my desire, I did chose,

A beautiful city with hills so high,

Could stay here forever, not to be, why?

First night we anchored out,

Just off the main channel,

View of the bridge and city at night,

The bridge so beautiful, especially with the lights,

Thinking of all the TV shows we saw on channels…

Nash Bridges comes to mind, that Cuda’ crossing,

The Golden Gate zipping back & forth over the lines,

Streets of San Francisco, an older show, sure,

Karl Malden, the one with the big nose…

Our first day in port, we found a small marina,

Run by a surly guy and his wonderful wife,

The Stratton’s Place it was called,

Bill & Eileen, our hosts for the week,

They loaned us their truck, to go get supplies,

They loaned us a smaller boat to cruise the coast,

To discover what it is that they love the most,

About their San Francisco, city of ghosts…

But like always, we have to leave eventually,

Rufuz always dragging out that last minute walk,

On the grass and all the leaves,

Back under the bridge we did go,

Pictures after pictures we took as we went slow…

Out into the bright blue Pacific again,

To follow north to the Seattle area, hopefully no rain,

But either way, we are prepared; we have our slickers,

Our boots and rain hats all hanging near,

The boat, the Rene’ Lyn, has traveled this far without a hitch,

Much further it must go, but for me it ain’t no bitch,

For I look forward to the solitude of the vast Pacific ditch,

Rufuz he just stands on the prow, watching the fishies,

Ride our wake; those dolphins are there to protect us,

We know this without mistake…

((((Ed)))) I just love this little adventure....It really feels like I am there...I can feel the sea mist on my face & smell the nice clean air..And Rufus standing on the bow, barking in the wind....And me by ur side, sailing toward the horizon....Ah, someday! Loved it!

I am very glad to read this "Circum-navigating, in my Minds Eye, Part II"... This voyage is smooth and an adventurous one... Let it slide on the waves of imagination to the deep sea of Your memories, set course, Poet, hold the rudder and tell us about the next port You anchor.

I am confident that this "Circum-navigating, in my Minds Eye, Part II", “and MANY MORE” will be the adventure reading of the Season.

I really enjoyed this Part II.

Keep writing... Sail on, Poet!

My one regret while traveling along the west coast of the United States is not seeing the dolphins and whales. Perhaps next time :-) Thanks for the sharing.
