They hadn't seen each other in so many years
they laughed over memories, and shed some tears
talked about family, husbands and wives
and all that had happened in the years of their lives
they both had spouses and children too
and good careers to carry them through
and at the end of the evening, they parted still friends
each wondering in their heart what might have been !
