It is said that the flower of five petals and five sepals represents the ten apostles, who remained faithful to Christ in His suffering.
The crown of thorns represented here by the hair-like rays above the petals.
The five stamens represents five wounds.
The three styles,a stigma, suppose to represent the nails used in the execution of Jesus...The flowers die after a single day - the time Jesus spent on the cross......Amazing!
