Bamboo Temple
(for David)
sometimes it starts as a soft
unassuming sprinkle
no thunder, lightning
no big, huge bang
just a warm, healing,
soak in a hot lava spring
under Polynesian night skies
and the green herb of your love
medicine for the spirit
I hear happy, carefree rain-bells
cascading waterfalls in your
voice
white sea spray of
the Pacific welcomes me with
wide open aloha arms
outside my cottage door
wet footprints, pelicans
and ginger blossoms
