The little girl peered at me from her double stroller and asked with a perplexed look on her cherubic face, "Why were you peeking up at the sky?"
"Because it is so beautiful!" I exclaimed, raising my arms up with added punctuation.
And indeed! the sky was saturated in gorgeous, vibrant cotton candy pinks.
Her mother also remarked as she pushed the double stroller into the Ruby sunset.
"Your angel was down for awhile and the girls were so upset when I drive past your house, I have to slow down so they can enjoy the angel"
We had put up a 7-ft Christmas angel on our front lawn but the wind kept knocking it down pitilessly. Then, today I stared at the angel lying on the ground, my arms akimbo and declared,
"The Angel is Victorious! The Angel is Victorious!"
We hoisted her up once more, but this time we staked her to the ground. I reattached her golden halo and turned on the sparkling Christmas lights.
David and I held hands admiring her triumphant glow. There were a few streaks of poinsettia red fading across the twilight heavens.
I laughed joy bubbling over and said, " Oh look...She's up and flying!"
Yes, I started to wonder whether it was a mistake to have gotten such a large Angel. But after that encounter with the children I'm glad we did, and happy we kept her flying. I will post a pic on the poem.
Sending you a toasty warm fireplace, with snow falling outside and reindeer!
Much Peace and Divine Love
