What I would give for the warm of the morning sun
the cool of the evening breeze
the rustling of the leaves in the trees
I think then, life would become more fun.
How it would feel in the silence of the evening
to hear the bark of the dog now and again
the chirping of the birds in their happy game
I think then, life would have more meaning.
What then if I sat under the quietness of this place
every day and every night
in silent thoughts of the world in its ugliness, the
world in its beauty smiling in my face
only me it would be,
for my mind to make it right.
And then my tears are hard to fall
and fall I want them to with all the wailing inside my heart
with all the pain blocked by a rigid wall
and only the softness of the rain, the warm of the sun
the rustling of the leaves in the trees, the bark of
the dog now and again, the chirping of the birds in
the sky, could ever tear me apart.
