As a Canadian Born Man who has never been to war!. I want those of you, who think that we don't think of our soldiers and the choice they make, its for us. I want you to know I am Permanent lawful Resident. But will always be a guest and I ...will act accordingly. I too feel the pain of your loss. I am thank full. For our Armed Forces tonight and always. God Bless America, Brian.
“So Still Am I”
ah hm ah hm ah hm!! courage in the midst of chaos…he can’t hear me?.
I know he can’t hear me?.
The mortar fire all around, as I lay here on this hot ground
Just beyond the terrace,
Screaming as loud as I can, to no avail the round came down.
My head rests, so quiet I hear my self-breath Ah Huh ah Huh.
Laying on my side, is where I watched.
“So Still am I”.
At 2:00 am I lie awake thinking of everyone how “it” must be,
They say they stand together, but some days how alone one must feel,
To draw up that hardened steel, it’s dark,
The sounds of pain all around,
Moving across the road toward someone he did not know,
One last gasp of air, falling to his knees now laying in the streets.
That sound I did not want to hear,
Was it my heart that loudly pounds? It was the door. She falls to the floor.
His face is all she sees.
“So Still Am I”
Today is a day I dread
To rise up out of my bed, my body aches with misery.
Come young lady you must be proud,
She lifts my chin, as we make that walk up by his side. What a man he was
Who has always been there for me?
I shall not forget the moments that he gave,
And oh! how I wish or 1 billion more,
The sounds of shots cry out, there they fly! Overhead, their thundering sounds spread across the sky,
The loss fills my eyes
“So Still Am I”
For my family and I they take a stand, the brave men and women of this great land, Because of this never ending dedication I live my life with respect, knowing that for with out their sacrifice my life would not be what it is today. So I pause to remember.
For our Armed Forces May, God shed his blessings upon all. Brian
