Goodnight my love, my dear dreaming amour, My husband of nineteen contented years, My love more true than any gone before, Your thoughts ascend, and my subconscious hears.
Goodnight my cat, diminutive dear friend, Bewhiskered ball of rare insanity, I see you stretch in sleeping, end-to-end In elongated fluffy reverie.
Goodnight my house; the clock ticks softly on, The tidying can wait another day. The spiders are still vile to look upon, Tomorrow I might hoover them away.
Goodnight to moon and worlds light years apart. Tomorrow all my best intentions start.
Well your good intentions should start with getting a humane, eco friendly spider repellant spray (said the great white mousehunter.)19 years though - pretty good, not quite the 29 me and Teri have run up so far but you're younger....who said poets have no staying power???
I too liked the image of Harley. Another good one.
I like your rhymes in this. They are sleek & flow without being campy or mawkish.
Especially, though, I like the stanza concerning your cat.
A light poem which has set me thinking of bed as well.
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
