When dripping waters from the sky cover over daylight skies
thoughts of you decorate the lingering hours while I wait
for a chance to recite my thoughts of you kept out of sight
from others who can't find a way to understand how I appreciate
the moments we have been together through a many type of weather
while others with no concept of what it truly is to love
a face because it belongs to the person not a song
not a movie, not a book, only a face as it looks
to me when we laugh to smile if only for a little while
about a silly childish thought that made between us indeed taught
that even though our days weren't perfect with you they were always worth it
changing, growing, as we went without a false claim in content
of our characters while we lived learning of ourselves to give
time to talk to understand the person who needed to expand
past some other's point of view of what they were false or true
needing moments to combine the talents of our lives entwined
to nurture more than just a way of living through another day
welcoming new ways to share a moment to forget the cares
cast upon them by a world that itself can't seem to cure
with all their geniuses employed who have forgot the human joys
of togetherness in every life without restrictions and confines
to build up one another as a sister, as a brother
keeping always in our minds that love sets free not undermines
the sanctity of breathing life inhaling, exhaling, making right
wrongs that plague the soul from change diminishing its reaching range
mistakes are made, corrected, forgot, without the need to down trod
keeping them from improving all the wants where the movements
growing in the thoughts of mind improve the living when combined
with elements of all life's good obtained as we could and would
gather for a meal at tables, passing plates, and serving ladles
with a hearty helping of a nourishment joined together in love
where days were talked about from perspectives of the others' daily objectives
accomplished well, or in need of work, help is offered never shirked
oh the lives of mortals be so full of things that can't conceive
the simple things that people need when disregarded by the thieves
whose own desires fail to please their understanding of what they see
when memories in the making of the day you live make mention of
a friendly face that gives you pleasure remembering moments spent together
dreaming one day they'll again bloom into the garden space of noon
when sun is bright and skies are clear so all who can and will appear
to delight in the moments where their earthly life components
combine to birth dreams fresh and new into a future where the view
is clear from pasts of wayward thoughts welcomed where they may be sought
another day when in need of a smile to lift and lead
them past darkness that looks to steal the happiness of minds and wills
set to accomplish what they can in the lives lived as human
holding on to every good in their lives as needed food
to feed their goals to keep them fit with all of life's best benefits.
