LONG GONE WREN

Poem Artwork

Deep within the thickened woods
There stands a grand birch tree
Set high within its bent branches
A birdhouse stands silently, empty

Once occupied within its tiny walls
Were a wren and her wren family
Reminders of life’s full cycle
Of how fragile it can be

The woods grew thick around it
Regaining natures place again
But they’re up in those branches
Sits a reminder of a long gone wren
