Thoughts and thanks I send to you
Beautiful mother of my child
Though your time was short with her
I thank you for this child

In her eyes she carries
The blueness of the sea
In her heart there’s room
For you and also room for me

Together me and you
Will raise her up to be
The perfect little angel
God let you share with me

So though I am not her birth mother
You had to go back home
Our father up in heaven
Saw fit to bring you home

So thank you dear friend
I will do my very best
But never let your memory
Be lost or put to rest
