Solitude in Utah

The heart stands still, in the hush of Utah Breathless moments steeped in awe and wonder Soaring canyons chiselled by time and nature Tundra covered plains disappear in silence Shimmering sun dapples red sandstone arches Lightening flashes across Deadhorse point Canyonlands beauty lit up in dazzle A solitary rabbit scurries for cover From watchful eye of red tailed falcon As my eye takes in, this wealth untouched Monument valley stirs the soul Towering spires that brush the sky Moab the oasis, within this bowl Of brittle and parched desert sands Lonely the heart feels As time is frozen Lost in perspective As heaven unfolds Copyright by Peter Paton 2005

You've captured the post-card poet and coffee-table book to exactness. It's a timeless shot, through the aperature in the red rock. It's like crawling out of the womb for the first time after being given life. A peaceful, easy feeling. Thanks for sharing the beauty, Peter.
