" Be Bold, Be Imaginative...and Most Of All Be Courageous "

..........................................................................

In Veiled Vision

I went down to the Crossroads

And there was a great multitude

Of people lost and bewildered

Searching for a Signpost in Life

No one had a clue

Which way to turn or go

Empty and devoid of hope

In need of faith and inspiration

Looking for a shining example

A wise man appeared

Adorned in bright robe

And pointed the route to follow

With caution and heed

He admonished us to finish the journey

Vanishing from sight

We were left on our own

To gather our thoughts

And muse on symbols and tokens

High overhead an owl glided

Screeching don't go any further

Or you will surely die

A gaunt scarecrow opened its eyes

And declared it was time

To make up your mind

Do you wish to see it through to the end

Or have you no stomach for the battle

The path ahead grew wild and barren

As we all grew hungry and weary

And baked in the burning sun

We devoured wild berries

Swirled down with clear water

Bubbling from a natural spring

In the West the dying sun dissapeared

Its flickering rays piercing the clouds

And the throng settled down

In harmonious rows

And a Hush broke out all around

This so compliments my tarot card The Crossroad posted in my den. A close parallel, Peter and also The Bread card with the Egyptian theme where the illustration has a road sign. The illustrations I did on the cards are originally 11 X 14 and reduced size does not show the words on the sign. They are Giza on the cross of that sign and Emmer on the other arm of that cross sign fashioned like our modern-day road street signs. I am depicting Giza in Egypt and Emmer wheat, an old-world grain to make Old Kingdom Egyptian bread. Looking forward to Part II Peter.
