I wrote a poem the other day for one of my best friends, my confidante. This one is for my savior, my everything. Maria has felt "the calling" and is now going through the process of becoming a nun to fully devote her life to God and the church. And though I'll miss my "party pal", she'll always be the one who stood by me in dark times and helped me to find the light. I'll love her always.
Sister you will always be to me though soon you will be sister to many friend to all servant of a higher cause Admiration for your actions your dedication your absolute conviction Pride for you moves me to tears it swells in my chest leaves a salty trail winding down my cheeks Faith so long lost to me that you helped me to find a tiny beacon of hope long sheltered in a corner of my heart You are my inspiration my redemption my light in the darkness my muse and the beauty of that will never fade
Danielle although I am not a religious person as such, I admire the true believers who worship not just through their oratories but through their actions and deeds. Your friend sounds like such a person and you are indeed fortunate to have each other as friends.
I feel your loss, Danielle, but this is a noble calling, indeed. She'll be a fantastic nun, because she wasn't sheltered. She'll be an inspiration to many, as this poem will be...
