If I could only tame the flame of such a sweet desire,

 A burning ember tiptoes within to flame and rebirth a fire.

Cradling my weary heart as my mind ignites,

 Stirring memories of long ago of wetting appetites.

 Searing my mind, no subtleties, from a passion of long ago,

Awakening and whispering till my cheeks are all aglow.

 Basking in the memories sneaking into the night,

 To see you one more time as lovers reunite.

Burning like a building, no control in youthful winds,

Oh how I long to just be young and just breathe you in.

 One more smile, one more touch of a youthful hand,

To gently say I have loved you more than all the grains of sand.

Laughter in the moonlight, a sweethearts kiss goodbye,

Remembering the fire within still brings tears to my eye.
