You, the thunder who made me think,
A cup of rain, my refreshing drink,
My flash of light across a dark sky,
My giddy laughter, my own mud pie.
You, a chance I dared to take,
A thunder giving my world a shake,
When it down poured and all seemed bleak,
You brought laughter to my cheek.
Let it rain, let it pour,
Let our laughter sound and soar,
Stand with me in down pour or drizzle,
Let love and summer on pavement sizzle.
If you can stand with me in the muck and mire,
Know my secrets, my every desire,
Stomp in puddles, play in streams,
Accept me fully with no in-betweens.
Then please stay and do not waiver,
There is more to come, more to savor,
Puddle jumping one by one,
Oh there could be so much more to come.
Umbrella kisses, joy in the dance,
Happiness in rainbows of new romance.
Bring on the storm and let it rain,
Let love and laughter grow to remain.
One date, one moment, a little smile,
Each day a blessing through every mile.
