She whispers his name like a prayer
In the silence of her lonely room
A teardrop rolls unnoticed
Like so many in the gloom
Last night her Daddy’s little girl
A sweet Angel pure as snow
Then the devil stole her innocence
Laughed as he said he had to go
Sprawled across the mildewed mattress
In a cheap, shoddy, hotel room
Naked and bruised from night regrets
Her purity died far to soon
Handful of bills on the nightstand
Laughter as he zips his pants to go
Her teardrops now flow freely
Knows now what she didn’t know
Broken angel, Daddy’s little girl
Tainted forever by one night
Dons her ripped and ragged clothing
Limping and bruised to face the light.
